We changed the center of Char.
The daily-note stack asked you to copy unfinished work forward every morning. That was maintenance disguised as organization.
We are replacing it with one continuous scratchpad.
The page carries work forward
Finished items step aside. Open loops resurface when they matter. Anything pinned stays put like a sticky note on a desk.
You still get a clean start to the day without rebuilding the page from yesterday. Char handles the carryover.
You should be able to open one page and trust that the work you still care about has not disappeared.
Chat stays on the page
A Linear or GitHub link becomes a live card that keeps itself current instead of sitting there as a dead URL.
Delegated work is heading in the same direction. A chip on the page will show the agent running, then put the result back in your note.
The goal is to keep the work next to the thought that started it, not bury it in another chat window.
Context needs hard lines
Suggestions are starting to draw from what you actually do: your notes, meetings, and connected tools.
That only works if the boundaries are clear. Incognito windows are never captured. Per-site controls are coming so you can decide where Char pays attention and where it does not.
Memory is useful when you control where it stops.
The first beta batch
The first closed-beta batch starts in September. We will invite about ten people a week from the waitlist and work with them directly.
